Con Fuoco is the Varsity Treble Choir at FMHS comprised of singers who also sing in the Jaguar Chorale. Membership is by audition only.
Con Fuoco sings a variety of styles, but focuses on concert literature, and keeps up a heavy performance schedule, including UIL Contest and a Spring tour. Members also participate in All-Region, All-State, solo and ensemble. Con Fuoco has received UIL “Sweepstakes” awards, as well as performance honors in San Antonio and Washington, DC. They have performed a number of large works, including the Britten Ceremony of Carols and the Missa Brevis. The choir has commissioned pieces by Jeffery Ames and Jocelyn Hagen, Ola Gjielo, Susan LaBarr, Elizabeth Alexander, Dale Trumbore, and Shawn Kirchner.
Most recently, they ranked in the Top 5 Ensembles at Festival di Voce (April 2025). Con Fuoco won 1st place in their Large School Division/Category and received Top 10 State Finalist (in entire state!) while participating in the Next Level Performance by Perform America – TX, LLC.
Students from Con Fuoco have been active participants in both local and state solo and ensemble contests, and singers in the choir have been involved with all-region and all-state choirs. Graduates have gone on to successful music study at major college institutions both in Texas and nationwide.
